The project “Rural Traditions, Learning Opportunities” (2017-3-RO01-KA105-047062) was a 10 day youth exchange that took place in Marabu Camp in Milcoveni, Caraş-Severin County, between 11 – 22 of may 2018 and brought together 48 young people between the ages of 16 and 30 and 8 group leaders (18+) from 4 countries: Hungary, Italy, Macedonia and Romania. 

In this youth exchange participants were young people with fewer opportunities, most of them coming from rural areas.

The idea of the project has started from the passive attitude of rural and peripheral urban youths to engage as active citizens in the research and promotion of local traditions, considering them obsolete and uninteresting.

The aim of our project was to ensure that the 48 young participants in the exchange to become more motivated and aware of the civic responsibility to preserve and promote local traditions for the inclusion of disadvantaged rural and urban young people, to develop a continuous dialogue between generations, between nations, the affirmation of the disadvantaged communities in the European space and their tourist, economic and cultural development.

To achieve each goal in this project, we designed special sessions in the program of activities that contributed to the achievement of the quality criteria and indicators assumed in an interactive, motivating and logical way.

Non-formal education strategies used during the exchange have contribute to increasing self-confidence and self-esteem, motivation being enhanced by different games that contribute to personal development, self-esteem, optimization of interpersonal relationships, socialization, social integration.

The results of our project are: 48 young participants in the exchange, are more motivated and involved; 48 young participants in the exchange, have improved attitudes, abilities and skills; Performing a show for promoting diversity and interculturality .
